Featured Project: Hickory Flat Crossing

105,000 SF of shops & restaurants
Canton, GA

MetroGroup developed Hickory Flat Crossing featuring 105,000 square feet of shops and restaurants at the intersection of State Route 140 and East Cherokee Drive in Cherokee County, the second fastest growing county in Metro Atlanta.

Over the past two decades, Cherokee County has experienced explosive residential growth creating an unprecedented demand for retail amenities. Hickory Flat Crossing provides shopping and dining alternatives in a convenient, accessible location. This center joins the other retail developments opened or under construction at this intersection, including Publix and Walgreens.

Hickory Flat Crossing includes CVS/pharmacy, Waffle House, McDonald's, Zaxby's, Tractor Supply Co. and Discovery Point day care center. The shopping center opened in 2007 and now serves a trade area of residents living in Canton, Woodstock, Roswell and Alpharetta, Ga.

According to the Atlanta Regional Commission, Cherokee County ranked second in rate of growth during 2000-2005 for the designated 10-county Atlanta region. Hickory Flat Crossing is located at the epicenter of that growth. The population within five miles of the site grew by 23% from 2000-2004 and currently registers at 41,957 with average household incomes of $80,318. Because of its accessibility, the intersection of State Route 140 and East Cherokee Drive has been designated as the "commercial center" for southeast Cherokee County.
